About SSC Junior Engineer
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the SSC JE result of Paper 1 exam on April 13. Along with the result, exam conducting body has also released SSC JE cut off 2018 for Paper 1. The candidates who have qualified SSC JE Paper 1 will appear for Paper 2 on April 29. SSC JE Admit card of Paper 2 exam is expected to be released soon. The admit card will be released online. Candidates who have qualified Paper 1 exam will be able to download admit card of SSC JE 2018 Paper 2 by entering their roll number and date of birth. SSC had released the tentative answer key of SSC JE 2018 on February 13. SSC JE 2018 Paper 1 was held from January 22 to January 29. The answer key of SSC JE 2018 Paper 1 had been released online. The Junior Engineer (JE) exam is a competitive examination conducted by SSC to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Junior Engineers Group B Non-Gazetted in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quality and Quantity Assurance in Central Government departments. The application process of SSC JE commenced on October 21 and closed on November 17, 2017. The recruitment process of SSC JE 2018 involves a two stage selection procedure – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 of SSC JE is an objective type computer based test while the paper 2 is a descriptive test. Paper 1 result is expected to be declared in March, 2018. Candidates qualifying paper 1 as per the minimum qualifying standards will be eligible to appear for Paper 2, dates of which will be announced later. The final result of SSC JE will be prepared on the basis of the candidate’s performance in both Paper 1 and 2. Applicants should be in the age group of 18-32 years and possess a degree/diploma in Engineering to apply for the SSC JE recruitment process.

SSC will conduct SSC JE Paper 2 on April 29. The Paper 1 of SSC JE 2018 was conducted by SSC from January 22 to January 29, 2018. SSC had released the SSC JE notification 2018 on October 20, 2017 and the application form of SSC JE 2018 was made available from October 21, 2017. SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2018
SSC has decided the eligibility conditions for aspirants of SSC Junior engineer 2018 planning to participate in the recruitment process. Applicants should check and ensure they fulfil all the eligibility conditions before filling the online application form. While the SSC JE 2018 eligibility criteria vary according to the post, some criteria is common for all the posts.
Education qualification: Applicants should possess a degree/diploma in Engineering from an institute recognised by the state or centre.
Age limit: Applicants should be within the age group of 18-32 years as on August 1, 2017.(Candidates born not before 02-01-1991 and not later than 01-01-2005).
Nationality: Only a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 to settle in India and people of Indian Origin who migrated to from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle in India.

SSC JE Syllabus 2018
The syllabus of SSC Junior Engineer 2018 recruitment is based on the exam pattern and sections included in the stage. The subjects for each stage of JE 2018 will vary from each other and the candidates will be required to prepare for the examination as per the syllabus of SSC JE 2018 issued by the commission. Candidates can check the syllabus for paper 1 as given below.
General Intelligence & Reasoning: The syllabus for General Intelligence includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.
General Awareness: Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person.
General Engineering (Civil and Structural), (Electrical & Mechanical)
